Completed Date : April 9, 2018

To create a volunteering opportunity for 18-25 years old, RICOD has been implementing International Citizen Service (ICS) project in rural parts of Lalitpur district since February 2015. It gives young people the chance to work side-by-side with local volunteers in developing communities to make a meaningful contribution to fight poverty. The project is supported by U.K. government led by Volunteer Service Overseas (VSO) Nepal. RICOD is currently working in education and livelihood theme under ICS project. Under the livelihood theme, RICOD aims to increase food productivity with improved and more diversified income; increased access to poor and marginalized women over important livelihood resources; and promote sustainable practices (e.g. farming) to enable communities to adapt to climate change. In education sector, RICOD aims to increase access and quality of services and resources; increase accountability of decision makers and power holders through education governance: improving leadership and management skills for school administrations and teaching instructors; increase voice and influence poor and marginalized groups through civil society and community engagement; promote inclusive education and unlocking talents through technology.
