Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) has been implementing “Mutual Learning for Improving Health and Nutrition Scenario” project with the funding partner Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC) and coordinating partner Efforts to Rural Advancement (ERA) since April 2020. It intends to exchange the staff between ERA and RICOD. However, the exchange has not become possible due to unexpected outbreak of COVID-19. The staff remained in their own home country and carry out the activities to achieve the outcomes. Currently, the round 1 (April-December, 2020) has completed and now in the second round (January-December 2021). The project areas are based in Lalitpur district viz. Mahankaal and Godawari Municipalities.  

What We Did?
  • Nutrition training to women, network members and  Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs)
  • Meeting with FCHVs to encourage the promotion and disseminate the information of Antenatal, Postnatal checkups and Health Institutional delivery
  • School orientation on Hand washing and nutrition to adolescents
  • Psycho-social counseling sessions to the target mothers to adapt to the current pandemic situation and encouraging nutritional foods intake

  • Advocacy meetings with local government authorities to incorporating nutrition and WASH in their plan
