Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) is working with children, women and youth in the area of basic health, education, disaster management, peace, food security and nutrition since 1994 in Nepal. The organization is seeking self-motivated and qualified candidate for “Improving Mother and Child Nutrition in Rural Village of Lalitpur” in the following position. The project is with the support of Canadian Foodgrains Bank and Mennonite Central Committee Nepal.

Job title: Technical Support Staff for Livestock (1 position)

Duration: 8 months (with possibility of extension)

Desired Qualification and Experiences: Intermediate level in veterinary or Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.

Major responsibility:  Technical Support Staff for livestock will take the overall responsibility of income generating activities focusing to livestock management. The staff has to work in the (Bukhel, Manikhel, Gotikhel, Chandanpur, Kaleshwor, Thuladurlung, Ashrang and Gimdi) for livestock support, group and finance management trainings, meetings, follow-up and home visits. Coordination with district and local level stakeholders is another key role of the staff.

Location Description:

RICOD’s main office is in Godawari Municipality; ward no 11, Chapagaon Lalitpur, on the south edge of Kathmandu Valley.  A project office is established in Gotikhel so the staff has to frequent stay and work through the project office. Project areas lie in the rural part of the district with scattered settlement. There is no scheduled transportation facility from Chapagaon and/or city. Most of the roads are rough and dusty.

Required Skills: Two wheeler driving license, Microsoft Office with Nepali and English typing.

Salary, allowances and other benefits: As per the rules of the organization/as per the provision in the project.

One way we feel helps us to reach this goal, is by creating this new, interactive website. In the coming days, we will be adding other advancements to achieve this goal. By engaging in community based programs and projects supporting all those who align with our vision, we believe we can make a positive difference in the lives of vulnerable and marginalized people who are in need.
