Improving Food Security and Nutrition (IFSAN) of Women and Children in Rural Lalitpur
Start date: 2022-04-01
Completed date: 2025-03-31
Rural
Institution for Community Development (RICOD) has been implementing the
"Improving Food Security and Nutrition (IFSAN) of Women and Children in
Rural Lalitpur. The project aims to improve the food security and
nutrition situation of reproductive-age women and under-5 children and also
influence the wider community in the project areas to sustain the acquired
knowledge and practice. The project will directly reach 4,041 unique
participants in five wards of Bagmati Rural Municipality (Ghusel, Malta,
Bhattedanda, Pyutar, and Ikudol) and one ward of Godawari municipality
(Devichour) which lies in the southwest part of Lalitpur district. These areas
are targeted because the communities in these sites have poor health systems
and nutrition and availability/accessibility of foods issues. These areas also
lack scheduled transportation services and RICOD had not previously covered
these sites with its projects.
