Rural Institution for Community Development (RICOD) has been implementing the “Mutual Learning for Improving Health and Nutrition Scenario” project with the funding partner Norwegian Agency for Exchange Cooperation (NOREC) and coordinating partner Efforts to Rural Advancement (ERA) since April 2020. It intends to exchange the staff between ERA and RICOD. However, the exchange has not become possible due to the unexpected outbreak of COVID-19. The team remained in their home country and carried out the activities to achieve the outcomes. Round 1 (April-December, 2020) and the second round (January-December 2021) have been completed. Now the third round  (January-December 2022) going on. The project areas are based in Lalitpur district Mahankal Rural Municipality and Godawari Municipality.

WHAT WE DID

  • Nutrition training to women, network members and  Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs)
  • Meeting with FCHVs to encourage the promotion and disseminate the information of Antenatal, Postnatal checkups and Health Institutional delivery
  • School orientation on Hand washing and nutrition to adolescents
  • Psycho-social counseling sessions to the target mothers to adapt to the current pandemic situation and encouraging nutritional foods intake
  • Advocacy meetings with local government authorities to incorporating nutrition and WASH in their plan
